Students complete the course at their own pace keeping in mind, however, the deadline set by the Faculty Council for the completion of the course in conjunction with processing the post-graduate study application. The course enrolment is continuously open in the POP system. Students can sign- up and start the course anytime. The contact lectures are given on periods 2-3. Depending on the point of applying for the doctoral studies, students can choose if they prefer to attend the lectures, view them as recorded from the POP or combine these two options. Beyond the lecture periods, students can only view the recorded lectures from the POP. The schedule and place of lectures to be implemented in 2016-2017 will be updated later during summer 2016 to the section "Learning Events" (Oppimistapahtumat) of this page.

In order to pass the course, the student must carry out three acceptable components within the given deadline: 1) lecture diary essays from two compulsory seminars and from two elective seminars, 2) approved literature review and 3) research scheme. The lecture schedule will be updated later under the section "Course implementations". Previous lectures are available on POP at: POP > DOCTORAL STUDIES > Studies > Orientation to Doctoral Studies.
