Description

After completing the course the student will identify how corporate, national and local culture have an effect in an intercultural workplace. They will learn different styles of leadership and working cultural practices in difference countries and companies. The student will analyze the corporate culture of an specific company and area of a country of his/her own interest and will be able to describe it. The student will be able to analyze real cases about opportunities and challenges that some companies and employees have experienced when collaborating across cultures and languages. They will also be able to make practical suggestions for those challenges and maximize opportunities of cross-cultural collaboration. The student will deep his/her knowledge about working in multicultural teams and will also learn strategies to work more effectively in virtual collaboration with culturally diverse and disperse teams. After completing the course the student will identify opportunities and challenges in an intercultural workplace in their final project. The student will be able to make recommendations to enhance cross-cultural collaboration and interaction among colleagues, clients or customers. Finally, she/he will be able to apply strategies to solve and avoid conflicts using different cultural styles. Activities in the course: -discussion of articles -forums -discussion leading task -final group written project and presentation

Requirements

A minimum attendance of 80% is compulsory. The student also must complete the individual and team tasks assigned in the course. The group will meet a total of 24h.
