Description

Industrial firms need to maintain close customer cooperation before, during and after they have delivered their products and systems to the customers¿ use. Industrial service systems include the offerings, processes and control systems that companies use in service delivery. Modern ICT technologies create opportunities for multi-channel service solutions but also increase complexity in the industrial service system. Engineers in various professions need to understand the business possibilities with industrial service systems, as well as their design requirements as part of technical systems. This course familiarizes the students with the configuration of service offerings, design of service delivery systems, and organization and management of service systems in industrial firms. After participating in the course, the students will know the components of modern, successful industrial service systems, understand their design and coordination requirements, and are capable to analyze and utilize industrial service systems in companies¿ business. The course will focus on the following main contents: ¿ customer information and involvement as a foundation for services ¿ developing and managing the service offering ¿ design of service delivery systems ¿ organizing the service delivery ¿ management control in service systems ¿ analysis and development of service systems ¿ managing ICT-enabled service systems in industrial firms
