Osaamistavoitteet

Student knows theory and principles involved in multidomain system and mechanism simulation and can apply this knowledge in simple simulation tasks. Student knows theory and practices of interfacing system and mechanism simulation tools with other CAE/CAD tools and is able to apply knowledge in simple engineering tasks. Student able to apply finite element analysis in simple engineering tasks in co-operation with other CAD/CAE tools. Student knows the basic concepts of product data management (PDM). Student is able to use the PDM system for collaborative engineering. Student is able to model product family structures and implement the models in PDM and CAD systems.

Online book   Implementing and Integrating Product Data Management and Software Configuration Management   Crnkovic Ivica, Ulf Asklund, Annita Persson Dahlqvist   1-58053-498-8     Only a section of the book is course material. It will be defined in lectures.   No
Online book   Integrated Computer-Aided Design in Automotive Development   Hirz Mario, Wilhelm Dietrich, Anton Gfrerrer, Johann Lang   978-3-642-11940-8     The book describes the development processes, geometric fundamentals, methods of CAD, as well as the basics of knowledge-based engineering and data management. Alhtough the context of the book is automotive engineering, the presented methods and tools give an overview valid in mechanical engineering generally. Parts of the book will be course material in the CAE course of TUT.   No
Online book   Product Customization   Lars Hvam, Niels Henrik Mortensen, Jesper Riis   978-3-540-71449-1     The book describes a procedure for designing configuration systems. Engineers need to understand, model and manage custimized products. Therefore the book is applied in the course. Further instructions how to use the book are presented in the lectures.   No
