Osaamistavoitteet

The course gives basic understanding on the method of dynamic modeling in the field of power electronics. After taking the course the student can define dynamic models and use them in efficient design of power electronic systems, thus, eliminating any needs for trial-and-error type of design. The student becomes familiar with analog and digital DSP-based implementations of control functions and is able to implement simple control functions in simulators and small-scale prototypes. The student knows how to evaluate the effect of nonideal source, such as a photovoltaic generator on the overall dynamic performance of a power electronic converter. Moreover, the student understands the concept of impedance-based interactions and can take measures to minimize them in power electronic systems.
