Master's Thesis

Additional information

The scope of a master's thesis, including the proficiency test, shall be 30 credits. A master's thesis shall be prepared individually. For special reasons it may be prepared in a group, in which case the independent contribution of each author must be clearly stated.

The dean or the vice dean shall confirm the topic and language of the master¿s thesis for Master of Science in Technology/Architecture degrees upon the attending student¿s application and appoint at least one examiner for the thesis. At least one of the examiners must hold a professorship or a doctorate in the field of the student¿s major subject. In exceptional circumstances, a teacher or a researcher may be appointed for the task. At least one of the examiners must be employed by TUT. All examiners must hold a higher university degree. The examiner(s) shall submit a written statement to the Faculty Council and also propose a grade for the thesis (evaluation scale is 0-5). In case of a joint degree, exceptions to this may be made according
to the joint degree policy.
