Implementation TIE-12206 2017-14

Description

Seminar on Computer graphics (5cr)

Topics: Graphics pipeline, 2D and 3D basics (Vertex shaders), Rasterization, Shading (Pixel shaders), Ray tracing, Visiting lecture, Advanced lighting, Other advanced computer graphics topics.

Lessons

Period 3 - 4
Methods of instruction Luento
Person responsible Matias Koskela

Assessment scale

Numerical evaluation scale (0-5)

Requirements

Grading scale is numeric 0-5! (For now POP states that it is pass/fail because apparently POP requires that all TIE-12206 have the same grading scale)

OpenGL/WebGL assignment, essay about an advanced computer graphics topic and explaining the essay's topic to other students. In the assignment better grades can be obtained by implementing more features. In essay only the written part is graded.

Additional information of course implementation

Prerequisites:
MAT-012XX Engineering Mathematics 2 (computer graphics is a lot of simple vector and geometry math)
and
TIE-20200 Software Design (assignment is quite big software so you need to know how to divide it into reasonable pieces)
