TIE-12206 Post-graduate Seminar on Pervasive Computing, 1-8 cr

Implementation TIE-12206 2017-06

Description

Visualizing software development.

This seminar presents current approaches to implementing visualizations for software development data.
We will go through issues related to data mining (gathering software development data, such as issues, bugs, tasks and test results from different tools), modeling it and choosing appropriate visualization techniques.
We will discuss how visualizations can be used to help software development processes.

The seminar combines a traditional seminar approach of familiarizing with state-of-the-art research on the topic and getting hands-on experience in visualizing software development.
Teachers will provide an introduction to the topic.
Students are expected to prepare a presentation on a scientific article or other named material on the topic (individually).
Students are also expected to implement a small visualization of software development data (in pairs).

Schedule:

3rd period:
2 meetings reserved for introduction/tutorial on the topic.
4-5 seminar meetings are reserved for student presentations on literature.

4th period:
4 seminar meetings are reserved for student presentations on visualization projects.

This execution of the seminar will give 3 ECTS.
