Osaamistavoitteet
On completion of this course the student - recognises the needs, drivers and challenges for transport transformation in passenger and freight transport - recognises the development of transport planning paradigms, e.g. from 'predict and provide' to 'sustainable mobility' - recognises the role of transport policy at international, national and local level and other enablers of and and obstacles to transport transformation - recognises possible scenarios and roadmaps for transport transformation - identifies the scale of external effects of transport globally (fatalities and injuries, exhaust gas emissions, climate change, energy consumption) and the concept of transport poverty (a situation where people are struggling or unable to make the journeys they need, due to e.g. lack of transport infrastructure or services or high costs of transport) - identifies the needs for and the potential of sustainable and renewable energy, new vehicles and new transport modes - can implement methods of environmental scanning to present future outlook of transport.
