1. 1. Metallurgy of fusion welding. Fusion welding methods and their application areas for different materials. Resistance and solid state welding methods:properties and application areas. 2. Soldering and brazing. Novel brazing consumables. 3. Adhesive joining of metals and related aspects. Combination of different joining methods. 4. Aspects on the consideration of joining in the designing and materials selection of structures.  The influence of different joining methods on the properties of materials and structures. The weldability and welding methods of different materials. Long term durability of adhesive joints and factors influencing on the durability.  Designing and dimensioning principles of welded structures.

In the evaluation of the course both the examination and exercises and exercise reports will be considered.
