1. Students will be given a short theory on extrusion coating process and the related process parameters will be introduced. Different characterisation methods used for packaging materials will be discussed.   Students will have laboratory works including an extrusion coating trial and several laboratory measurements. Laboratory measurements include barrier (WVTR, OTR), heat sealability and hot tack, adhesion, surface energy and friction measurements. In addition, IR-spectroscopy, DSC measurement and optical microscopy are included  The theory related to different measurements will be introduced.
