Students will be accepted on the course according to the time of sign-up, priority given to 1) students who have completed the KIE-08006 Intercultural Communication Skills course or KIE-08906 Intercultural Project Work; 2) TUT students to whom the course is compulsory; 3) students that enrolled earlier. - Exchange students are welcome and accepted to the group on a space-available basis.

Learning Outcomes
During this course, students focus on learning and practicing intercultural competencies that enhance cross-cultural collaboration in the workplace in one-on-one situations and in multicultural teams. In the first part of the course, students will identify the communicational barriers and cultural negotiation styles to solve challenges in one-on-one situations in intercultural encounters. In addition, they will identify the influence of culture and language in job interviews and strategies to access working opportunities in an foreign cultural environment. In the latter part of the course, students will distinguish the most common challenges in multicultural teams and strategies to solve them. Furthermore, participants in the course will deepen their knowledge about working cultures around the globe using sources commonly used by companies. Finally, students will analyze real cases of challenges that employees, employers and companies have faced while working in an intercultural workplace or a cultural foreign environment. At the end of the course students will be able to: identify cultural communicational barriers and cultural approaches to solve conflicts. identify the influence of cross-cultural differences on job interviews. apply strategies to work and manage projects in multicultural teams. recognize core working values of a culture of their interest. contrast the similarities and differences between local, national and corporate culture.
