MAT-68007 Topics in Mathematics, 2-10 cr
Implementation MAT-68007 2018-03
Description
Matrix Analysis (5 credits)
This course provides a bridge between undergraduate-level matrix theory/linear algebra and the level of matrix analysis required for graduate-level study and research. The course also looks at applications of matrix theory such as differential/difference equations and linear system theory. Prerequisite MAT-60006 Matrix Algebra or equivalent.
Topics: Vector Spaces; Linear Transformations; Pseudoinverse; Singular Value Decomposition; Linear Equations; Projections, Inner Product Spaces, and Norms; Linear Least Squares Problems; Eigenvalues and Eigenvectors; Canonical Forms; Linear Differential and Difference Equations; Generalized Eigenvalue Problems; Kronecker Products
