Learning Outcomes

After the course, the student is able to: Use tools and methods for product design in a practical project and use the substance knowledge of his/her studies in a real life problem solving. Communicate fluently orally, by writing as well as by visual and other means. Participate in a professional role in a project team that - developing highly futuristic, technologically feasible ideas - creates a demo or a prototype of a product, service or other innovation - understand how to design with incomplete information - understand the value and apply iterative prototyping and - develop skills in moving ideas into testable, tangible prototypes quickly. - make well justified design decisions in an ambiguous design environment - reframe a problem taking into the account the different stakeholders as well as the societal impact (- apply user centered design) Team working skills are especially emphasized as the course comprises of an assignment carried out by a cross-disciplinary and international team comprising of students with different backgrounds and skill sets.
