This Spoken Communication in English course (KIE-32056) - groups 1 to 4 below - is integrated with the courses Laaja Kemia 2 and 3.
Both English and Laaja Kemia are offered in the first year of the Bachelor's degree programme for TLU.

Please note! Groups 5 and 6 are exclusively for 2nd year students on the Bachelor's degree programme for BMT and they are NOT integrated with Laaja kemia. These groups will start later to accommodate students' exceptionally heavy schedules in January 2019.


We will monitor the sign-up progress and an additional group can be created, if necessary.

Students on the sign-up / waiting list have to be present on the first day of the course to be sure of retaining their place in a group. The course is only intended for degree students

Osaamistavoitteet

At the end of the course, the students are able to engage in small talk make use of language learning resources to develop vocabulary and grammatical knowledge engage in discussions about basic concepts and principles central to students’ field of study research technological topics in English by critically reading from both popular and scientific sources summarize information from these sources in speech collaborate in project pairs or groups in order to design short persuasive presentations design visual aids in support of presentations design, rehearse and deliver a short informational speech
