1. Fusion welding methods and their application areas for different materials.   Resistance and solid state welding methods:properties and application areas.   Metallurgy of fusion welding. 
2. Soldering and brazing. Novel brazing consumables.  The weldability and welding methods of different materials.   
3. Adhesive joining of metals and related aspects. Combination of different joining methods.  The influence of different joining methods on the properties of materials and structures.  Long term durability of adhesive joints and factors influencing on the durability.
