Kuvaus

Autumn 2018 implementation with three optional widths (4, 5 or 6 cr) according to the needs of the student. The number of Topics in the 4, 5 and 6 cr versions are 12, 16 and 20, respectively. The number of mandatory PC sessions of them are 3, 4 and 5, respectively. Each PC session will take 120 minutes. All versions have the same mandatory practical LAB work a session of which takes 60 min. Mandatory sessions will NOT be organized on Wed & Thu at 10-12 o'clock but will be selected times suitable for all the students.

For later TUT studies that of 4 cr is sufficient. Taking that of 6 cr is very tough. So do not take it if you do not have a lot of time and energy and can avoid it.

Regular week sessions (Wed 10-12 and Thu 10-12) are voluntary. Thu sessions are different from Wed sessions. In some weeks Wed is a lecture while Thu is an exercise. But in some weeks both Wed and Thu are combinations of a lecture and an exercise. If you miss a voluntary session please self-study the topic of it before the following topic.

Sub-Exams A-E of Parts A-E are called Tests A-E. A Total Exam may replace only the union of Tests A-C while exam questions of the extensions D-E can only be examined in Tests D-E.

Option ABC of 4cr: A practical lab work & PC sessions A-C & Tests A-C (or a Total Exam). Option ABCD of 5cr: A practical lab work & PC sessions A-D & Tests A-D (or a Total Exam plus Test D). Option ABCE of 5cr: A practical lab work & PC sessions A-C and E & Tests A-C and E (or a Total Exam plus Test E). Option ABCDE of 6cr: A practical lab work & PC sessions A-E, Tests A-E (or a Total Exam plus Tests D-E) ).

Tests (Sub-Exams) B and C may also be splitted into Week Exams: Week Exam N covers Topic N before Lecture (N+1) for N = 5-8 of Part B and foN = 9-12 of Part C. The student is allowed to return her/his answers to any WE topic only once, either in a WE sessions or in a later Test session (for the Part in question). In this the student is allowed to vary her/his choice of the time.

Texts for parts A to E will become available week-by-week, respectively.

Registration to the extension(s) D and E will be requested within the POP interface of the course during Period 2. Topic 16 of Part D and Topic 20 of Part E will not be devoted exam questions if the student passes the SEMINAR of the Topic by an active participation in the seminar.

Possibilities for extra points will become available within Group works, Extra PC sessions and/or Guest Lectures.
