Approved laboratory exercises and a final report that are done in groups and a final quiz.
The final quiz consists of 10 multiple-choice questions.
The purpose of the quiz is to control that everyone in the groups has taken part in the design process.

Osaamistavoitteet

The student is able to design, dimension, implement and test a small scale power electronic DC-DC converter. The student can design the control system of the device, select control system parameters and simulate the operation of the device. The student is able to write a document of the different phases of the designing process.

1. Designing of a small scale power electronic device and dimensioning of its passive components.     
2. Control system simulation and selecting the control parameters.     
3. Designing, implementing and testing of the main and measurement circuits.      
4. Implementing and testing of a DSP-based control system.      
5. Documenting the design, dimensioning, implementation and testing of a power electronic device.

Passing the course requires that the student is actively completing the given tasks. The given deadlines are to be followed.

Successfull passing of the course and understanding of the design process would require to mastering the basic methods to analyze the operation of the switched-mode converter and their dynamic behavior. DEE-33106 and DEE-34106 would provide the necessary information.
