KM course is for master phase students, carried out in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment with students from several universities. The course language is English. The execution of the course is hybrid, i.e. there are both classroom learning and distance learning (100%) options available. The students have the possibility to design their attendance between these two options. The learning is supported with Moodle-course management system, video captures of lectures and additional support mechanisms. The requirements for credits of this KM course include compulsory individual and group exercises with time constraints.

Osaamistavoitteet
Students will learn to describe and apply the basic and key theoretical concepts as well as key theories of Knowledge management (KM). The aim is that students comprehend the management of knowledge as a strategic asset. Thus, they will learn a range of KM strategies and practices used in organizations to deal with knowledge that is either embodied in individuals or embedded in organizations as processes or practices. Therefore, this course provides students an ability to understand the connection between KM and strategic management. In addition, they learn to understand the role Social Media has in KM. In practice, students learn to search and identify essential theoretical KM literature. Additionally, they learn how to generate a synthesis of KM literature and process it in academic writing in referenced report format by means of collaborative writing and practical knowledge building. They learn to present their output in verbal form and discuss constructively of their results, too. Students will learn to collaborate in multi-disciplinary and ¿cultural as well as virtual group environment. Moreover, they learn how to express their learnings of the course in written learning diary format.
