Osaamistavoitteet
After finishing the course, the student understands the principles of rheology and the most common rheological measurement methods. The student understands the relationship between polymer structure and its rheological properties and knows the concept of viscoelasticity. The student knows the theory and applications of rotational and capillary rheometry and is able to ably the necessary corrections on the data measured with these devices. Furthermore, the student can calculate rheological quantities, like shear rate and viscosity, from the measured raw data. The competence of the student is evaluated by homework, personal exercise and exams. The course improves students understanding of scientific thinking, reasoning and explanation. The student also learns to take responsibility for his/her actions and consequences of those actions. In order to pass the course the student has to be able to use information and communications technology.

Ohjeita opiskelijalle osaamisen tasojen saavuttamiseksi
The course grade forms mainly from the grade of the final exam or midterm exams. The student also needs to do about 1/3 of the homework (5 out of 17) and solve 50% of the problems of the personal exercise to pass the course. The student is able to earn extra points for the course by doing more than the minimum amount. This can raise the course grade by one.
