The course is suitable for Industrial Management major and minor studies, students of the international program in Business and Technology, and other students interested in project business. In the course it is assumed that all students have understanding of the basics in project management.

Students without the required prerequisite knowledge (basic course in project management or similar) cannot participate in the course.

Osaamistavoitteet

The course focuses on knowledge areas that are central in the management of individual project-based firms (instead of networks of multiple firms). Emphasis is placed on practical cases solved by student groups. The learning objectives are as follows: 1) student is familiar with the main knowledge areas supporting the delivery of projects on a global basis 2) student is able to develop courses of action to respond to challenges stemming from e.g. project overlaps and discontinuities 3) student has readiness to apply theoretical knowledge and tools to analyze and solve practical problems faced by project-based firms

Group assignments are graded as 0..5. Individual assignment is graded as 0..5. The course grade is based on the grades of group assignments and individual assignment.
