Osaamistavoitteet
This doctoral seminar is intended to the students beginning their doctoral studies in industrial and information management. It offers an introduction and overview to the doctoral studies in the fields of industrial engineering and management; and information and knowledge management. After implementing the course the student: ¿ knows the basic requirements of completing a doctoral thesis and becoming professional in scientific research in industrial and information management; ¿ understands the features, norms and traditions of working in a scientific community; ¿ knows alternative research designs and methods, and can read and discuss others¿ scientific research; ¿ has a refined research plan for his/her doctoral thesis, can argument his/her research intent and design, and has adopted the basic practices of working with his/her supervisor (concerning the research plan, research work, and learning); and ¿ has a realistic understanding on how to proceed with doctoral research. In this course, the perspective is specifically that concerning the fields of industrial engineering and management, and information and knowledge management.
