Learning Outcomes
- | The ongoing and all-encompassing digitalization process, which will eventually penetrate all industries and the whole society, builds largely on efficient communications infrastructure. The associated Internet-of-Things (IoT) and Industrial Internet paradigms refer to the future connected and programmable world where not only people but also all things are able to communicate, and will have large impact and transformations in different vertical industries such as energy, transportation, logistics and manufacturing. Another prevailing trend in the society and industries is related to robotization and other different autonomous moving objects and machines, such as self-driving cars and drones, which also rely strongly on highly efficient and reliable wireless communications solutions.
Through this minor, the students learn the fundamental concepts, methods and tools of communications engineering, including basic wired and wireless networking technologies, which build the basis of, e.g., 2G/3G/4G/5G mobile radio networks and Internet. |
- | The purpose is to offer a flexible minor in the field of communications and networking, applicable for students of Computing and Electrical Engineering but also of other faculties. |
