This interdisciplinary course consists of a series of lectures on theories of space and place. Each lecture introduces a different theoretical approach to spatiality (e.g. geocriticism, phenomenology or popular geopolitics) in the context of a thematic area (e.g. detective fiction, representations of water or urban planning). The course includes weekly readings and an exam at the end of the course.

This is the same course as KIEKK01Theories of Space and Place. Lectures are held at center campus.
When a course is over-subscribed i.e. there are more sign-ups than places on the course, we enroll the required number of students according to the following criteria and order:
1. Students that are enrolled in the Master of Science in Architecture degree programs.
2. Exchange students that are enrolled in the degree programs in Architecture and if needed the priority is given to students that that signed up first.
3. Students that are enrolled in the degree programs other than Architecture and if needed the priority is given to students that that signed up first.
4. Other students and if needed the priority is given to students that that signed up first.
Students of the sign-up / waiting list have to be present on the first day of the course to be sure of retaining the place.
