Osaamistavoitteet
After completing the course student is able to: -explain the main features of the development of Finnish housing architecture and to identify the social background phenomena affecting housing design and to use this into one¿s own design concepts as a starting point -distinguish between the basic principles of housing construction and explain and explore the functional principles, the basics of dwelling dimensioning and the spatial arrangement of housing design in one¿s own project -recognise the basic features of legislation and standards in housing construction and be able to apply in one¿s own design project creatively and critically -apply architectural means of expression in housing design and use them individually for one¿s own design project -design general housing at an architectural, urban and functional level, while also demonstrating one¿s artistic and creative ability of the spatial qualities and architectural expression of the design -explore, create and visually demonstrate the architectural qualities of the design proposal and what it proposes to contribute to the quality of life of the residents -work iteratively and to demonstrate this through a documented reflective, critical and iterative design process
