Course objectives
Environmental risk analysis course intends to provide students with basic understanding of the principles of environmental risk analysis (risks to human health and the environment) and its use in environmental decision making.
Content of the course
Risk analysis includes risk assessment, risk communication, risk management, and policy relating to risk. This course will provide a general survey to risk analysis. The focus will be primarily on human health risk assessment but basics of ecological risk assessment, risk communication, and risk management will also be covered.
Requirements
Written examination and approved exercises.
Literature
The course material will be posted at the internet.
Information on prerequisites
General understanding of environmental and health effects of pollution.
Notes
Students will read provided material, answer weekly assignments, participate to discussion and prepare a risk assessment to a given case as a group work. The course is in English.
