Course objectives
Basics of cell biology and biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics. The concept of systems biology and bioinformatics. Information theorec and Signal Processing approaches to systems biology.
Requirements
Participation in the lectures (either 26 hours or 52 hours) and final exam.
Literature
Lecture notes. Also recommended special chapters from the books Lodish et al., "Molecular Cell Biology", W.H.Freeman and Company, 2002 and Heino, J. & Vuento, M., "Solubiologia", WSOY, Porvoo 2002 at the first lecture time.
Notes
Accepted as a postgraduate course. Course 8001612 will be lectured instead of this course during academic year 2004-2005.
