Course objectives
Understanding design and operation of systems for digital media content delivery.
Content of the course
Multimedia data compression, MPEG-2,4, SMIL standarts. Signal modulation for multimedia. Wireless cellular and LAN systems. Cable modem and DSL systems. Multimedia networking and streaming protocols. Optimisation of multimedia data delivery. Multimedia system architectures. Media servers. Multimedia terminals for mobile and home use.
