Course objectives
The course gives basic knowledge about traffic management and dimensioning of network nodes in broadband telecommunication networks, including IP and ATM networks. The course establishes a relationship between queuing theory as a mathematical discipline and its applications in telecommunications.
Content of the course
The course contains three parts: traffic characterization in broadband networks, analysis of single network nodes and analysis and dimensioning of network of nodes.
