Course objectives
Building the basic knowledge and skills for the design of analog signal processing units. The course is of essential importance for communication circuit design, which is further continued by 8307020 BCC, 8307080 High-Frequency Filters, 8307030 CCM, 8307040 Seminar I, 8307050 RF-ASIC, 8307070 Mixed-Mode Communication Circuits and Modules, and 8307060 Seminar II.

Content of the course
Basics of amplifiers, feedbacks, oscillators, and components needed for their implementation, such as Bipolar Junction Transistors, MOS transistors, HBTs and Operational Amplifiers. Applications mostly in Wireless Communications. The lectured topics are illustrated and further developed during the exercises through circuit simulations utilizing PSpice.

Requirements
Successful completion of the exercise tasks and written examination.

Literature
Selected chapters from A.R. Hambley: Electronics, 2nd edition, Prentice Hall, 2000, ISBN: 0-13-691982-0.

Notes
The course has been moved from the autumn semester to the spring semester. This course replaces the old course 8307010 Basic Analog Circuits, 2 cu. The teaching language is English.
