Course objectives
Advanced level knowledge of mixed-mode high-frequency circuits such as T/H, ADC, DAC and their applications in communications.
Content of the course
Transient analysis. High-frequency pulse and switching circuits. Signal conditioning. RF V-I converters. RF-speed Sample/Hold & Track/Hold. High-speed comparators. High-speed current-mode techniques. Current-scaling & differential-current-switch digital-to-analog converters. Applications in the all-digital receivers & transmitters. Pipelined & Flash ADC. Oversampling ADC: first & second order, interpolative & cascaded modulators, Sinc, FIR & IIR decimation filters. Sigma-delta modulators. High-performance ADCs. Design examples: GHz-range Track/Hold amplifiers and ultra-fast comparators.
Requirements
Completion of the exercise tasks and passing the written examination.
