Course objectives
To give the student an overview of the trends changing the electronics industry and an understanding of the industrial needs for the shift from mass production to mass customisation and the issues associated to outsourcing of production fron OEMs (Original Electronics Manufacturers) to EMSs (Electronics Manufacturing Services).
Content of the course
Topics to be covered: Introduction to e- and m-Business (Business Cyberspace), Fission and Fusion in eManufacturing, eManufacturing Technology Solution Sets, Vertical and horizontal integration of the Factory, Visioning the eFactory, Web-enabled machines and processes and Cooperative Manufacturing in Electronics Production.
Requirements
Attending the lectures, seminar assignments.
