Objectives
An introductory course to virtual reality. Gives the basic skills to understand and evaluate VR systems, applications and simulators and its impact on future digital systems and user interfaces. 1. Introduction to virtual reality. What is virtual reality. The basic components of a virtual reality system.  Human factors in VR. Examples of VR applications.  History of VR.
 
2. Input an output devices. Trackers, navigation and gesture interfaces. Graphics, three-dimensional sound and haptic displays.       
3. Computing architectures for virtual reality.       
4. Basic information of VR modeling and VR programming.
 
     

Requirements for completing the course
Final examination and laboratory work.

Assessment criteria
The student has to get at least half of the maximum points from the final exam and a project work is accepted.
