Tavoitteet
Intermediate level knowledge on communication circuits and
their applications.
Sisältö
High-frequency operation principles, parameters & models,
analysis & desing of: inductors & transformers, microstrips
&
transmission lines. BJTs, HEMTs, HBTs, etc. Small-signal &
large-signal models,
RF-simulators. Low-noise amplifiers. Power amplifiers.
Distributed amplifiers. Current-mode circuits. Active filters. Mixers and
detectors, oscillators, VCO/ICOs,
PLL Circuits. Track/hold, DAC and ADC. Sigma-delta
converters. High-speed pulse/logic circuits.
RF-design examples: Low-noise-amplifiers (LNA), voltage-
controlled-oscillators
(VCO), power amplifiers (PowAmp), track/hold amplifier (T&H).
Basic RF-measurements by
oscilloscope and spectrum analyser.
Software in use: PSpice, Cadence, ADS.
Tutkintovaatimukset
Completion of the exercise tasks, which include also design,
building and tuning of an RF-PCB, and passing the written
examination.
