Course objectives
The course aims at giving a wide perspective on management and institutional options of water and sanitation services in urban and rural areas.
Content of the course
Course includes various types of public and private systems and public-private partnerships. Examples from Finland, France, Britain, the Baltic region and developing countries will be presented. In addition, cross-cutting issues such as benchmarking and performance indicators at utility level will be dealt with. Participants will prepare and present essay seminars on related topics or cases to be selected.
Requirements
Participatory attendance in lessons and essay seminars.

Supporting literature and sources to be provided.
Information on prerequisites
Preferably some professional water related courses.
Notes
Not necessarily offered each year. Offered academic year 2002 - 2003. Lectures are in English. The course is accepted for post graduate studies.
