Course objectives
A first course in design and analysis of digital systems. Prepare students for a design-oriented course, as well as for specialized courses in VLSI design, testing, and implementation of digital signal processing systems, computer design, and microprocessor-based design.
Content of the course
Specification and implementation of simple combinational and sequential systems. Parameters needed for analysis and design. General methods to analyze combinational networks and sequential systems. Analysis and design of modular digital systems. Organization, analysis, and design at the register transfer level. Organization of the data and control subsystems.
