Course objectives
Intermediate-to-advanced level knowledge on high-frequency T/H, ADC, DAC and their applications in communications.
Content of the course
Signal Conditioning. RF V-I Converters. RF-Speed Sample/Hold & Track/Hold. High-Speed Comparators. High-Speed Current-Mode Techniques. Current-Scaling & Differential-Current-Switch Digital-to-Analog Converters. Applications in the All-Digital Receivers & Transmitters. Pipelined & Flash ADC. Oversampling ADC: First & Second Order, Interpolative & Cascaded Modulators, Sinc, FIR & IIR Decimation Filters. High- Performance ADCs. Design examples: GHz-range Track/Hold Amplifiers and Ultra-Fast Comparators. Technologies in use: BiCMOS, Bipolar, CMOS, SiGe and GaAs.
Requirements
Completion of the exercise tasks, passing the design test on using the software tools, and passing the written examination.
