Objectives
Introduction to Automation and Control Engineering ; symbolic and numerical analysis and design of single-input-single-output feedback control systems using linear models, implementation of controllers.
Content

1. | Purpose , structure and operational principles of feedback as well as feedforward control systems ; PID control ; implementation of controllers | Idea of Multivariable control | |
2. | Modelling and simulation based on ODEs, block diagrams, transfer functions , inverse Laplace transform. | Physical modelling based on material etc. balances, state space models, model concepts | Matlab including Simulink and Control System Toolbox. Requirements for completing the course
PC exercises 6h & Laboratory Works 2h & Exam. The Exam can be divided in sub-exams A and B, and each sub-exam may be divided in 6 Week Exams.
