Objectives
To describe the special requirements of medical image information and to provide knowledge of most important image processing methods.

Content

1. The type of image information in transmission X-ray imaging, gamma, ultrasound, CT and MR imaging.        
2. The most important image processing methods in each imaging mode, such as enhancement methods and processing of dynamic image sets.        
3. Combination of images and signals, parametric images, quantification of images, 3D displays.        
4. Image transmission, archiving and compression.       

Requirements for completing the course
Accepted exercise work (20%) and final exam (80%).

Evaluation criteria for the course

  • Final exam 80%, exercise work 20%.
