Objectives
To familiarize the student with the design criteria of road, street and railway structures, the design of road structures based on the bearing capacity and frost resistance, and the design of drainage and reinforcements of road structures.

2. Structural types of roads, streets and railways, bound and unbound construction materials and the testing of their properties.        
3. Modelling of the mechanical behaviour road, street and railway structures, design of the bearing capacity, design against frost action, interplay of the road pavement and subgrade.        
4. Drainage and reinforcement structures for roads.        

Requirements for completing the course
Accepted design assignments and a written exam.

Evaluation criteria for the course

  • Exam 75 % and design assignments 25 %.
