Objectives
To give knowledge of surface behaviours in paper converting, particularly in extrusion coating. Understanding of adhesion phenomenon and the correlation between surface properties and converting operations,e.g. printability.

Content
Content Core content Complementary knowledge Specialist knowledge
1. Surface behaviours in extrusion coating. Understanding of adhesion and surface energy phenomena. Learning of various characterization techniques and analytical methods of adhesion and surface energy. Surface properties and surface modification. Printability.

Requirements for completing the course
Passed seminar and exercise work (report). Lectures are mandatory. After lectures, student must write up a report either about important surface phenomena relating to their own research area or about a given topic. Report is about 4-5 pages. Arvostelu on hyväksytty/hylätty. Luennot on seurattava. Osallistujien laadittava kurssin jälkeen omalla tutkimusalueella tärkeistä pintailmiöistä tai annetusta aiheesta 4-5 sivuinen seloste.
