Objectives
Student knows the basic laws and fundamental concepts of Mechanics and can solve equilibrium problems of isostatic systems.

1. Fundamental concepts and principles of Mechanics. Force systems and reductions of force systems. Equilibrium of particles, rigid bodies and systems of rigid bodies. Internal forces of beams, frames and trusses. Friction. The principle of virtual work. Stability of equilibrium.       

Requirements for completing the course
Approved exercises and individual work (internal forces of plane frame). Two intermediate exams or a written examination.

Evaluation criteria for the course

  • Passed final written examination or written intermediate examinations and accepted exercises.
