Objectives
Student knows the basic concepts of finite element method and is able to analyse linear static problems of beam, disk, plate and shell structures using computer programmes.

1. Basic concepts of finite element method of Strength of Materials. Concept of spatial discretation of material domain. Interpolation functions and numerical integration. Different types of elements. Applications to different linear structural problems. Computer programme packages.
