Objectives
Student knows the effect of cracks in the behaviour of materials and able to analyse the problems of cracked steel structures.

1. Introduction to linear and nonlinear fracture mechanics. Derivation and application of different fracture parameters. Basic approaches for calculating fatique life of stressed components.
