Objectives
After the course you will know the planning process stages of a medical device from an idea to a final product. You will perform the literature review which includes patent and market surveys and a survey of requirements for the application and the biomaterial. You will review also scientific articles and use different databases. You will set up with your team the schedule, work flow and budget for the project. Your team will present the project as written document and orally in seminars. You will have feedback from your final oral presentation. The course is done as team work.

Requirements for completing the course
All the lectures, assignments and seminars are compulsory. Accepted written reports and accepted oral and written final reports requested.

  • Written reports and final reports (oral and written) determine the grade.

  • Used assessment scale is numeric (1-5)

    Additional information about prerequisites
    Course is intended for M.Sc. and PhD students only. At least 30 cr from the field of biomaterials, medicine and related subject are requested before attending the course. Student's background is checked before acepting to the course.

  • Partial passing of course must be in connection with the same round of implementation.
