Objectives
To make students familiar with basic measurements, recordings and analysis methods in biomedical engineering.

Content

1. Determination of the nerve impulse velocity by electrical stimulus and muscle response.
 
     
2. Measurement of electrical activation of the heart from the body surface and learning of measurement system and interferences.
 
     
3. Measurement of electrical activation of the brain from the skull. Evoked potential measurement and filtering of signal.
 
     
4. Determination of absorbed dose by dosimetric crystal and determination of depth dose curve.       

Requirements for completing the course
Accepted laboratory exercises and examination.

Evaluation criteria for the course

  • Each laboratory is assessed with 0-2 points. Receiving 2 points from every work, totally 8 points, there is no need to participate in examination. Received points will be taking into account in examination.

  • Used assessment scale is passed / failed

    Principles and starting points related to the instruction and learning of the course

  • An introducttionary lecture will be given by the instructor for each laboratory. The laboratories are carried out in pairs.
