Objectives
To understand main properties of engineering ceramics and ceramic matrix composites. To give abilities to use these materials in different applications.

Content

1. Most important engineering ceramics and composites, mechanical properties
and other properties. Machining techniques, effect of machining on sterength
and desing of ceramic components, to understand shape limitations of ceramic
components.  
     
2. Processing techniques, powders, processing additives, forming
and sintering. Effect of sintering additives on high temperature properties.
 
     
3. Examples from main areas ceramics materials are used.

Examination from given material, compulsory exercises.
