Objectives
To introduce the basic steady-state analysis methods, and applying them on the different switched-mode converter toplogies for solving the input-output relations, steady-state inductor current, the volatge and current stresses of switching and magnetic components.

Content
Content Core content Complementary knowledge Specialist knowledge
1. Buck, boost, buck-boost, forward, flyback, full bridge, half bridge and push-pull topologies will be treated in detail. The topologies used typically in single-pahse power factor correction applications will be treated shortly as well as the basic control principles such as direct-duty-ratio control, peak-current-mode control, average-current-mode control, and the hysteretic-current-mode control.

Requirements for completing the course
Final exam on the topics presented during the lectures and exercises.

  • Kurssilla perustarkoitus on opettaa asioita, joiden avulla opiskelija pystyy suunnittelemaan ko. teholähteitä. Harjoituksissa esitetään käytännön teholähteiden suunnittelua siinä muodossa, kun ne kurssin tarjoamin menetelmin on mahdollista. Kurssin sissällön omaksuminen siten, että kykenee solveltamaan opetettuja asioita edellyttää omakohtaista tekemistä.
