Objectives
The course focuses on mobile and wireless communications. The course introduces the structures and principles of different types of wireless networks (cellular networks, WLAN/WPAN/WMAN, broadcasting networks), as well as radio network planning methods. Also the central properties of a radio link are studied. MAC (medium access control) mechanisms and RRM (radio resource management) functionalities are described and their significance on the efficient operation of the network is discussed.
