Objectives

The seminar aims at advancing the knowledge in environmental engineering and management, including water engineering and management, and focuses on the understanding of the structure and the content of scientific publications, in writing a literature review and oral presentation skills in English.

Content

1. The students review special topics related to water, wastewater and waste treatment and management,and environmental risk and effect management.      


Evaluation criteria for the course

Approved seminar report and oral presentation.

Assessment scale:

Numerical evaluation scale (1-5) will be used on the course

Additional information

The student has to agree the seminar topic with the teacher (Tuhkanen, Isoaho or Kallioinen) by October 15th, 2008. There will be an info-meeting on friday 26 September at 12 o?clock room FC 117. In the info-meeting we will discuss about the practicality matters related to the seminar and give instructions for seminar writing.
